Chemical engineering
Research areas: bioremediation, coal cleaning,
gasification and desulfurization, sulfur oxide sorbent materials,
electrochemical corrosion mechanisms, superconductor thin films,
hazardous and solid waste treatment.
Thermal Science
Research areas: thermohydrodynamic modeling of
bearing and wet friction clutches, energy management, solar systems and
HVAC, thermal scaling in friction systems, scroll compressor design,
fluidized bed combustion, turbulent flows and use of synthetic gasoline
and alcohol in engines.
Mechanical Systems
Research areas: rapid prototyping,
CAD, CAM, image analysis, friction induced vibration and
noise, control of multi-body systems.
